Meet Anita Salek Aasen, LCSW

Anita Salek Aasen has worked for over 30 years as a licensed clinical social worker and therapist.

As she grieved the loss of her brother, Lou, who died in 2017, she felt a strong calling to help others navigate the complexities of loss. Her personal experience and 30 years of professional expertise have shaped a unique healing approach that blends empathy, therapeutic insight, and an understanding of grief as a non-linear journey.

Now retired from state service, she continues her life’s work supporting clients through an online therapy practice. She guides them in finding peace and healing. When not working, she devotes her time to family. She is an avid animal lover who treasures her Chihuahua and three cats. She is also a fan of The Beatles and the Star Trek franchise.

She understands that grieving a significant loss or managing anxiety and transitions can be overwhelming. She has witnessed the lasting impacts of the pandemic on so many, and she believes therapy can be a safe harbor to begin healing and move forward.

Anita Salek Aasen is a Certified Grief Informed Professional and Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist, equipped to support individuals in grief, stress, depression, anxiety, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and the 12-step recovery process helps clients reconnect with their true selves.

Her exclusive approach to therapy is personal and heartfelt. She helps individuals discover the lessons hidden within life’s toughest moments, believing that our most profound strength often emerges in unexpected ways.
